PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE
Once again Ray Long, MD will enlighten us about the new and exciting procedures and research in osteopathic surgeries that helps us as yoga teachers to serve our clients and students, while sharing fundamentals as he always does when he comes to visit us in Kansas City. The schedule will be refined as we get closer, but it is highly recommended that you attend the entire workshop as the sessions tend to build on each other. Anyone can apply for continuing education credit and receive a completion certificate to file with Yoga Alliance or any other registration body.
Human anatomy and physiology is a vast subject, as is the art of yoga. Nevertheless, combining knowledge from both fields is extremely beneficial to the yoga practitioner. Athletes can improve their performance and experience fewer injuries through a basic understanding of their musculoskeletal system. Similarly, yoga practitioners can benefit from the application of Western science to their practice development.
Join Ray Long and Chris Macivor for a weekend journey into the body. This workshop is not just about anatomy and yoga, but about the inter-connections within our body. This year, Ray Long will be introducing more therapeutic applications to his practice and will have even more cutting edge technology through which to gain wisdom and understanding about the amazing body and yoga.
Yoga Therapy will be the highlight of this interactive workshop. More details will be posted soon.
We hope you will join us for this experience. Come prepared to practice, with yoga mat, any needed personal props and a container with lid for water. Please refrain from using strong smelling lotions or perfumes as they can cause allergic reactions.
Saturday and Sunday Registration at 8:30 am, Program 9-Noon, Lunch, Program 1-4:00 pm providing 12 lead teacher contact hours.
Tuition is $300 for entire workshop. Partial attendance is available on the registration page.
Travel, Parking & Lodging:
Travel: Fly into Kansas City International Airport (MCI) on Friday, November 9. Click here for Google Flights. Southwest Airlines and Allegiant have great deals and are not included in the Google Flight search.
Parking and entry into the building: Participants should enter through the KSCB entrance which opens to the Farmer’s market pavilion and parking (north of the building). The building street address is 7342 West 80th Street but use the entrance on the NORTH side of the building. If you park in Famers Market vendor spots that are reserved, plan on being towed.
Lodging: VRBO or AirBnb close to the area known as Old Overland Park.
Eating: There will be no food or drinks (other than water in a capped container) allowed in the studio space. The floor is a special material and sticky spots or food on the floor presents a danger to the dancers. There are plenty of places for lunch in the downtown area and hopefully the weather will be good.
