THE DOCTOR FROM INDIA is a meditative and immersive portrait of the life and work of Dr. Vasant Lad, the holistic health pioneer who first brought the ancient medical practice of Ayurveda from India to the west in the late 1970s. Integrating his gifts as both a healer and a mystic, Dr. Lad has dedicated his life to sharing what is considered the oldest healthcare system on earth in the complex medical landscape of the United States. This is the beautiful and inspiring story of a man who has for decades been quietly at the center of a revolutionary movement to change the way we care for our bodies and our spirits. Directed by Jeremy Frindel (One Track Heart: The Story of Krishna Das) with an elegant musical score by Rachel Grimes, and featuring Deepak Chopra, Robert Svoboda, David Frawley, and Claudia Welch.
David Lipsius is the president and CEO of the Yoga Alliance organization. As you might have heard, Yoga Alliance is currently underway with their Standards Review Project. As part of the Standards Review Project, David will be visiting Registered Yoga Schools across the country in late July/ August 2018 for townhall-like gatherings. It is an opportunity for Yoga Alliance to hear from schools and teachers directly on what they want regarding standards, how they can better serve the yoga community, and answer any questions.
The town hall meeting will be a 90 minute event – about 15/ 20 minutes from Yoga Alliance on any updates regarding the Standards Review Project and anything new at Yoga Alliance, and then the remaining time used for questions discussions.
They are very grateful for the opportunity to hear directly from their members. The event will be free to anyone who would like to attend, although they will use Eventbrite to keep track of how many people are coming and cap it to a certain number if there are space limitation.
The Yoga Alliance marketing team is working on promotional material for this event and planning several across the country. They hope both members (and nonmembers) in the area will be interested in attending!
