IIYS Prenatal Program, Registered with Yoga Alliance

The IIYS Prenatal and Restorative Certificate is an 80 hour professional program registered with Yoga Alliance. You must hold your 200 hour yoga teaching certificate to apply BUT you do not have to be registered with Yoga Alliance. Paula Tortalano Self, Certified Advanced Iyengar Teacher will be the lead teacher for this training. She will be assisted by her husband Jack Self, J. Renée DeTar, C-IAYT, E-RYT500 and Kelly Crowe, LMT, RYT500 and Pelvic Floor Specialist. Our curriculum will be released in Fall 2019, when the summer weekend dates and venue are confirmed.

  • VENUE:

    This training will be in the Kansas City area and will be offered in three weekend and one online module.

  • SCHEDULE:

    Consists of three weekend modules (all day Friday, Saturday & Sunday) for Units 1, 3, and 4 and Unit 2 is online. Each Session includes lectures, yoga practices focused on session content, teaching demonstrations, small group work, and Ayurveda. During Unit 4 we will review your independent study assigned in Unit 2 and take comprehensive competency exam. The Sessions are spaced approximately three to six months apart to allow time for integration of the material through personal practice, home study assignments, and telephone calls with mentors. Registration starts at 9:00 am Friday, program begins at 9:30 AM Friday-Sunday and ends by 5:30 pm each day. 

    TUITION:

    $399 per module, does not include meals and lodging. A discount is available if all four modules are paid for together in full of $1,396. There is an administrative fee of $50 for the AYS program that is payable upon enrollment.
