300 hour IIYS Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Program

Admission Requirements:

The minimum admission requirement for our training program is a 200-hour teacher training from a Yoga Alliance registered school (RYS 200) or the equivalent. In addition to the 200-hour teacher training requirement, students must be able to document one year of teaching experience and one year of personal practice (which can be accomplished concurrently). Program Completion Requirements: 

Once the first 300 hours of the Advanced training is complete, students may apply through Yoga Alliance for the 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) designation. Modules must be completed within 2.5 years to earn the IIYS Advanced Interdisciplinary Yoga Teacher Certificate.

Sacred Contracts Module

  • Required materials: Books: Sacred Contracts by Caroline Myss and Power vs Force, by Dr. David Hawkins. 

  • This module contains homework assignments and mentoring to help you identify the archetypes that are functioning in your life, how your react to them and to introduce you to the concept of muscle testing theory and practice. This module is the most important module within this program as it prepares you to have a unique understanding of yourself and how you function in relationship to yourself and others. This knowledge is invaluable as you start to process the yoga philosophies presented in this program and your identification with "chitta" your unique sub-conscious mind. 

  • After completion of this module, you will be able to construct an archetype chart not only for yourself, but for your private clients as well to assist in their healing journey. 

  • This module can be taken any time, however is recommended as soon as admission is processed. Completion of this module consists of all homework assignments turned in, creating your own unique archetype chart with the assistance of one of our teachers/mentors and finishing a final project.

Ayurveda Yoga Specialist (AYS) offered with the Himalayan Institute

  • Unit 1: The Macrocosm and Microcosm of Ayurveda and Yoga

  • Unit 3: Ayurvedic Cooking and Recipes—Improving Our Digestion of Food, Thoughts, and Actions

  • Unit 4: The Clinical Use of Ayurveda and Yoga

Format:

The IIYS Advanced Program (300 hour) consists of the above four Sessions in a residential five-day format, 3 weekend modules (all day Friday, Saturday & Sunday) for Units 1, 3, and 4 of the AYS curriculum, Unit 2 of the AYS curriculum is online. Each Session includes lectures, yoga practices focused on session content, teaching demonstrations, small group work, and guided independent study. We start early on a Wednesday morning and end Saturday at 8:00pm. Arrangements for arrival should be on the Tuesday before, returning the Sunday morning following the session. Sessions are spaced approximately three to six months apart to allow time for integration of the material through personal practice, home study assignments, and telephone calls with mentors. Mentoring: 

Mentoring and consultation are important aspects of the development of the this program. Each student develops an ongoing relationship with an experienced faculty mentor to guide their development in personal practice and skills. Mentoring includes homework review and consultation at each program session, plus telephone meetings between sessions. More extensive individual mentoring is available over the course of the program and on an ongoing basis after certification. Additional fees will apply.

Requirement for Certification - IIYS Interdisciplinary Yoga Teacher 500 Level, Yoga Alliance RYT-500 eligible

  • Attend Sessions 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the IIYS Advance Yoga Teacher Training Program and complete all assigned home study.

  • Attend and complete Units 1-4 of the Ayurveda Yoga Specialist program.  

  • Complete a final project (develop, teach and evaluate a class series)

  • Complete 15-20 additional hours of study in human anatomy (this is beyond the two weekend modules with Dr. Ray Long not included in tuition). 

  • Upon completion of the 300 hour program, you are eligible to enter the KC Yoga Ther@py Training Program.

2018 - 19 Tuition Payment Information and Registration

  • $850 per Session. 
  • $399 per Unit for the Ayurveda Yoga Specialist program. Discounts are given if all four units are paid for in advance. 
  • Cancellation policy: the tuition is returned minus a $250 administration fee.
